Hardly Reading
I have two types of readers in mind.
Casual Readers. Statistically, this is you. You might listen to the audiobook in the toilets or on the way to work. You might skim most of the content or drop after 200 words.
Serious Readers. These are the people who trust me to be serious about what I write. They might take notes, review them, discuss the content, write commentary, come up with strong counter-arguments and experiments to confront your theories with mine.
I am writing for the latter.
What makes it worthwhile for me to write is when the latter come to me and surprise me with their insights. They ask me questions that I should have obviously answered in retrospect. They teach me relevant facts and come up with new insights. They learn from my writings and use them to build great things.
This is elitist. But this is on Reality, not on me.
I put a lot of content in this website, and...
We do not expect to learn a list of words from another language by reading it once.
We do not expect to learn the periodic table by reading it once.
We do not expect to reproduce a math proof by reading it once.
We do not expect to learn a move in some sport by seeing it once.
We all know that to learn something, we must be serious about it.
My website is no different.
I'd love to be inclusive and have everyone learn casually, just like that.
Sadly, this is not how learning works.
If you plan to just be a casual reader, that's ok.
Before being a scrub, you are before all a fellow human being and I genuinely wish you best in your life. Feel free to tag along for the ride.
In exchange, I kindly ask you to not interrupt when people are treating this website seriously and to not expect that we care about your opinion on the topics discussed here.
Also, please like and subscribe lol. Substack, Twitter, etc.
